Nate and Alison Brack
Hello! We specialize in traumatic stress using approaches backed by research and brain science to address the present impacts of trauma.
Alison is a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in relational therapy with caregivers and their young child - particularly children with behavioral and emotional challenges, and have experienced adoption or early adversity. Alison heavily supports primary caregivers as the key to bringing change for their child. She uses a play-based & sensory approach to increase felt safety, regulation, and relational capacity. She is certified in the Neurosequential Model (https://www.neurosequential.com/nmt) an approach integrating neurodevelopment and traumatology to inform work with children and families. Alison also uses Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (https://ddpnetwork.org/about-ddp/dyadic-developmental-psychotherapy/) and Theraplay (https://theraplay.org/what-is-theraplay/) techniques. Alison supplements trauma processing with training in EMDR; Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework; and Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). Short-term consultation is also available.
Nate is a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist specializing in treatment for adults (https://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr/). He also uses Internal Family Systems and somatic approaches including Deep Brain Reorientation to negotiate subtle and structural dissociation. Furthermore, Nate works with problematic trauma coping to include addictive behaviors and substance use. Nate is a vetted and approved first responder treatment provider in the state of Missouri (https://www.missouricit.org/provider-map). Nate also offers PLPC clinical supervision and EMDR consultation.
